Traci believes in the power of play to help children connect with their world in a positive way using their language-play. She believes using play helps children overcome obstacles, express their emotions, and build the tools they need to achieve their goals.
Traci has spent a majority of her career working with children and adolescents in the education setting, working as a special education teacher, general education classroom teacher, and certified school counselor. She has always felt every child deserves to have their voice heard and is passionate about helping children feel comfortable and safe to do so. Her knowledge and experience working with children and families in the educational and therapy settings will allow her to support you in meeting your child’s needs.
Traci holds a Bachelor’s degree from The University of Nebraska at Omaha in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Special Education, a Master’s degree from Wayne State College in School Administration and a Master’s degree from Doane University in Counseling. Traci is also actively completing ongoing training to become a Registered Play Therapist(RPT) and a Clinical Mental Health Counselor – she is currently provisionally licensed in the state of Nebraska. She utilizes techniques from child-centered play therapy, cognitive-behavioral play therapy, and sand tray therapy.
