*Debonnie is the process of becoming a Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (PLMHP) specializing in child and adolescent therapy, and is expected to start in May 2025.
Debonnie Dima specializing in child and adolescent therapy. Passionate about helping young clients navigate emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges, she takes a compassionate and evidence-based approach to therapy.
Debonnie earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2018 and her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Child and Adolescent Therapy from Northwestern University in 2025. She completed her clinical internship with Omaha Insomnia and Psychiatric Services.
With four years of experience as a Vision Therapist, Debonnie has worked closely with children and families, fostering skills that enhance emotional and cognitive development. She incorporates a blend of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), play therapy techniques, and family-centered interventions to create a supportive and engaging space where children feel safe to express themselves.
Debonnie collaborates with parents and caregivers to provide comprehensive care, helping children build healthy coping skills, improve communication, and gain confidence in overcoming life’s challenges.
